Lakefront Property

Another type of waterfront property, lakefront property, is its own entity. There are many small lakes in the lowcountry in and around Charleston and a few large ones. Some are natural and many are man-made. Frequently, subdivisions are built around the lakes with canals and inlets which allow access to homes not directly on the lake. Most of the smaller lakes do not allow motor boats but kayaking, rowboats, and sail boats are the order of the day. Lake Moultrie, a large lake 31 miles north of Charleston, is a favorite with locals for fishing and water skiing alike. Because of its large size, there is room for both.
Consider Lakefront property when you want to live on the water and just aren’t satisfied with what your money will buy on a deep water river or tidal creek. There are a wide variety of choices from small ponds to large lakes and salt water to fresh. Check out the options.
