The Old Mt. Pleasant waterfront is really a special place. Right across the harbour from Charleston’s Aquarium and Waterfront Park, is the “mount” of Mount Pleasant. This bluff runs along much of the Old Village waterfront, where homes rest proudly on the bluff overlooking the harbour with views all the way to Ft. Sumter. The high ground/deep water combo made this area of Mt. Pleasant the first area to be settled. There are many old homes here surrounded by lovely oaks, camelias, and azaleas.
If that weren’t enough, there are lots of great restaurants and pubs in the area. There is also a kayak rental facility right on Shem Creek and the beach is less than 10 minutes away. Location Location Location.
