Let\u2019s enjoy<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>1 \u2013 corned beef brisket<\/em><br><em>1 \u2013 32 oz carton of good chicken broth<\/em><br><em>1\/3 cup of whole grain mustard<\/em><br>1\/3 cup<em> Dijon mustard<\/em><br><em>1\/3 cup of good horseradish sauce \u2013(I use Boar\u2019s Head)<br>1\/3 cup of olive oil<\/em><br><em>Dutch Oven<\/em><br>____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Corned Beef and Cabbage \u2013 Fudgy Style<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>The brisket will come in a plastic bag \u2013 cut the bag completely at one end \u2013 remove the brisket reserving all of the gelatin and the spice packet in the bag* in a Dutch oven add 3 tblspns of olive oil and heat pot to a light smoke from the oil \u2013 place the brisket into the pot, fat side down and sear for about 2 minutes \u2013 remove from heat \u2013 open the spice packet and pour into the bag\u2013 add 1 can of chicken broth into the bag along with the other ingredients and swirl until all of the packaging gel is incorporated with broth and additional items \u2013 pour this mixture over the brisket \u2013 add other can of chicken broth &nbsp;\u2013 cover and place into a 325 degree oven for appx 3 \u00bd to 4 hours \u2013 remove brisket to cutting board and allow to rest for at least 10 minutes \u2013 slice in \u00bc \u201c slices using an electric knife \u2013 place the slices back in broth and cover \u2013 back into oven for another 30 &nbsp;minutes \u2013 enjoy<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Note: with 1 hour left in the cooking process you can add some cut Yukon gold potatoes to the brisket mixture \u2013 they are excellent<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Now for the cabbage \u2013 if you ever want to do anything, always ask a lazy man because a lazy man will always know the easiest way to do anything \u2013 when I cooked cabbage, which I love, I would always have to stand next to the stove and stir the cabbage mixture regularly and I hated that \u2013 so, one day I decided to try something different \u2013 I would set up the dish and start it on top of the stove and then finish in the oven and it was delicious \u2013 so here is my modified, lazy man\u2019s cabbage<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Cabbage \u2013 per number of people<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Onions<\/em><\/strong><br><strong><em>\u00bd lb of bacon<\/em><\/strong><br><strong><em>28 oz carton of chicken stock<br>1 stick unsalted butter<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Slice onions and cabbage<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Take \u00bd pound of bacon and cut into strips * render bacon completely * &nbsp;add cabbage and onions and mix * season with salt and pepper * add \u00bd of the chicken broth and cook on top of the stove uncovered for about 8-10 minutes to get it going &#8211; &nbsp;cover, add remaining chicken broth and place in the same oven as the brisket for about 2 hours \u2013 remove and add butter and blend \u2013 cover until ready to eat * Erin go Bragh<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Note: do not make a sandwich on rye with this because you will go crazy<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/hbrtwn.com\/fudgy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Southern-Living-photos-050-2-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-68\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hbrtwn.com\/fudgy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Southern-Living-photos-050-2-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/hbrtwn.com\/fudgy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Southern-Living-photos-050-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hbrtwn.com\/fudgy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Southern-Living-photos-050-2-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/hbrtwn.com\/fudgy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Southern-Living-photos-050-2-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/hbrtwn.com\/fudgy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Southern-Living-photos-050-2-1568x1176.jpg 1568w, https:\/\/hbrtwn.com\/fudgy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Southern-Living-photos-050-2.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption>Southern Living Cook Off 2004<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"94\" height=\"146\" src=\"https:\/\/hbrtwn.com\/fudgy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Leprechaun.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-73\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s St. Patrick\u2019s Day and corned beef and cabbage is the fare!!
